Advertising never changes a rank
NordSourced sells advertising, separately from the ranking. No company can pay for a better position — see how we rank for the published formula every company is scored against, paid or not.
How ads are labeled
Every paid placement sits in its own box, separate from ranked results, and is marked “Advertisement · not part of the ranking” directly on the placement itself — not only in a footer or terms page. This applies to the ad slot on list pages and to the advertising strip on the home page.
The photo carousel at the top of the home page shows a few manufacturers we chose as examples; its order is not a ranking. A manufacturer that is a client of NordSourced carries a “Client” label on its card there, as it does in every list and on its profile.
What advertising can and can’t do
- An advertiser’s position in a ranked list is set only by the published scoring formula, never by whether it advertises.
- An ad is a short text placement: a name, one line and a link. It carries no score and makes no certificate claims.
- Being a NordSourced client for other services does the same: it is disclosed on the company’s profile, and never changes that company’s score or rank.
- We do not run ads that could be mistaken for a ranked result, and we do not accept payment to remove, hide, or improve a company’s own score.
Client relationships
Some companies listed on NordSourced are also clients of ours for other work. Where that is the case, the company’s profile shows “Client of NordSourced · this does not affect the ranking.” The scoring formula does not have a field for this relationship — it is computed identically for clients, advertisers and companies we have never spoken to.
