What minimum order do private label manufacturers require?
There is no single minimum order for private label products. Compare quantities only for the same product form, service and unit, and check whether each one applies per product, formula, colour, batch or year: an order of finished bottles is not a quantity of loose capsules or bulk material. Of the 415 manufacturers listed on NordSourced, 47 (11%) state a minimum order on their own website; for the others, ask, or let us ask for you.

A missing minimum order does not mean a manufacturer takes only large orders; it means its website does not say. These counts describe what NordSourced found on the listed manufacturers’ own websites, not every manufacturer in the region.
Which countries publish minimum orders most often?
What do the published starting quantities in Latvia mean?
The examples come from Latvia, where 17 of 78 listed manufacturers state a minimum order, the highest share of the five countries. They are the Latvian manufacturers in our food supplement and cosmetics lists that published a starting quantity when we checked their pages on 2 Oct 2026, in alphabetical order within each group, with the conditions from their own pages. They are not a ranking; the lists are ordered by evidence score.

Converting capsules into bottles does not give you a supplier’s offer: filling, packaging and the range of products still have to be agreed.

Can I sort these quantities from smallest to largest?
Only within a group that is really comparable. A quantity in kilograms cannot be ranked against a quantity in bottles. For each figure, note:
- the product form and the service it belongs to;
- the unit: finished packs, individual capsules, kilograms or another measure;
- the basis: per product, formula, colour, batch or year;
- the work included: bulk production, filling, packaging or development;
- the source and the date you checked it.
Even two comparable starting quantities do not tell you which first order costs less in total.
Is there a typical minimum order in Northern Europe?
Not one that this data can support. Few manufacturers publish their terms, and those that do use different units and services, so NordSourced does not calculate a median from them. The useful answer is the starting quantity for your product and production route, followed by a quotation for your actual project.
How do I get a minimum order for my product?
Ask each manufacturer for the commercial minimum of your exact product, form and pack, separately from samples or a trial run. You can also send your brief through NordSourced’s free request form: we ask the manufacturers you approve, without your name.
How these numbers were made
The counts come from NordSourced’s data of 3 Oct 2026: the 415 manufacturers listed in Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, each listed because its own website says it makes products for other brands. A minimum order or lead time counts when it is quoted from the manufacturer’s own page with a link, the way the evidence score counts it. This is not a survey of every manufacturer in the region, and nothing here was tested, inspected or quoted for a real order: the figures are the manufacturers’ own published statements.
