Which manufacturers in Northern Europe take a small first order?

27 of the 443 manufacturers listed on NordSourced publish a minimum order of 500 finished units or fewer on their own websites (data of 2026-10-14). 16 more say they take small batches without publishing such a figure. Minimums given in capsules, kilograms, litres or euro are left out of the count, because they are not finished packs.

Which manufacturers publish a minimum order of 500 units or fewer?

27 manufacturers do, in the table below. This page counts a first order as small when the manufacturer's own website gives a minimum of 500 or fewer finished units, packs, bottles, pieces or sets. 500 is the line because 6 manufacturers whose minimum is exactly 500 call it small, low, accessible, "just" or "only" 500 in their own words.

The order is not a ranking: the ranked lists are ordered by evidence score (how we rank). 12 of the 27 figures are stated per product, style, model, colour or SKU, so a first order with several products or colours is a multiple of the figure.

Which other manufacturers say they take small batches?

16 more say so on their own websites without publishing a minimum of 500 units or fewer. None of them publishes a figure at all. Their own sentences are below, each linked to the page it is on. What "small" means to each of them is a question to ask.

Why can a minimum in capsules or kilograms not be compared with one in units?

Because they count different things. A minimum in units counts finished packs ready to sell. One in capsules counts loose capsules before anyone fills a bottle, and one in kilograms counts bulk product. Converting one into the other gives no offer: filling and packaging still have to be agreed, as the minimum order guide explains.

Which product groups have the most manufacturers with a small minimum?

The most are in cosmetics: 8 of the 75 manufacturers listed in cosmetics publish a minimum of 500 units or fewer. A manufacturer that makes for two groups counts in both, so the rows overlap. A group with few small minimums may still have manufacturers that take one; their websites do not say so.

Is a small minimum for a ready-made product or for your own formula?

Often the website does not say. 4 of the 27 small minimums on this page are stated for white label or ready-made products. The others do not say whether the figure covers a product from the manufacturer's catalogue, your own formula or a formula developed for you, so ask which route the figure belongs to.

Stated for ready-made products: Vitae Clean Cosmetics from 500 units (white label) in Finland, ERA Scientifico from 500 bottles (ready-made/white label) in Latvia, HYPERPHARM (Client) from 100 units (ready-made formula) in Estonia and Pharma Manufacture (Client) from 150 units (ready-made formula) in Latvia.

Where a manufacturer publishes both, the custom figure is the one to plan with if you want your own product. ERA Scientifico writes that "For custom product manufacturing, the minimum is 1000+ bottles (or 60 000 capsules), depending on your chosen dosage and formula."

Each route costs you something different. A ready-made product costs you exclusivity: the formula stays the manufacturer's, and other brands may sell the same product. A formula developed for you costs development work, samples and time before the first batch. The guide to white label, private label and contract manufacturing compares the three.

What does your product decide about the smallest first order?

Three things: the product form, the route and the basis of the count. A cream in a jar, capsules in a bottle and a chair are counted in different units. A ready-made product and a formula developed for you have different minimums. A figure per product or per colour adds up over a range.

What should I ask a manufacturer about a small first order?

Ask for the commercial minimum of your exact product, form and pack, separately from samples or a trial run. Then ask what the figure is counted in and what it covers. Two comparable minimums still do not tell you which first order costs less in total, so ask for the price per unit at the minimum too.

  1. The unit: finished packs, loose capsules or tablets, kilograms or litres.
  2. The basis: per product, formula, colour, style, batch, order or year.
  3. The route: a ready-made product, your own formula or a formula developed for you.
  4. The work included: production, filling, labelling, packing and any development.
  5. The price per unit at the minimum and at a larger quantity.
  6. Whether a second order has the same minimum as the first.

How this page counts: a minimum counts as published when it is quoted from the manufacturer's own page with a link, the way the evidence score counts it. The figures are the manufacturers' own statements, not offers NordSourced obtained for a real order. A manufacturer that publishes no figure may still take a small order. See how we check.

Questions and answers

Which manufacturers in the Baltics take orders under 500 units?

18 manufacturers based in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia publish a minimum below 500 finished units, for example Cosmetics Nord from 1 unit in Latvia, TheLAB from 100 units in Lithuania, HYPERPHARM (Client) from 100 units (ready-made formula) in Estonia and 15 more. 8 of these figures are per product, style, model, colour or SKU, and 2 are for a ready-made product only. Data of 2026-10-14.

Which cosmetics manufacturers in Northern Europe have a low minimum order?

8 cosmetics manufacturers listed on NordSourced publish a minimum of 500 finished units or fewer: Cosmetic Lab from 500 units in Latvia, Cosmetics Nord from 1 unit in Latvia, GMT Beauty from 500 units (per product type) in Latvia, Owncollection from 100 pieces in Sweden and 4 more. Ask whether the figure is per product and whether it covers a catalogue product or your own formula. Data of 2026-10-14.

Can I order a few hundred units of a private label food supplement in Europe?

From some. 5 food supplement manufacturers on NordSourced publish a minimum of 500 finished units or fewer: ERA Scientifico from 500 bottles (ready-made/white label) in Latvia, HYPERPHARM (Client) from 100 units (ready-made formula) in Estonia, MUSHEEZ from 48 bottles (100ml liquid extracts) in Estonia, Pharma Manufacture (Client) from 150 units (ready-made formula) in Latvia and 1 more. 3 of these figures are for ready-made formulas, so ask separately for your own formula.

Which furniture or textile manufacturers take small orders?

9 furniture, interior or home textile manufacturers listed on NordSourced publish a minimum of 500 pieces or fewer, for example Aukmergės baldai from 20 pieces in Lithuania, Lāma from 30 pieces in Latvia, Make My Products from 100 pieces in Sweden, Molm from 50 units in Latvia and 5 more. 4 of these figures are per item, model, style or colour, so ask how a range adds up.

How many manufacturers publish a minimum order at all?

49 of the 443 manufacturers listed on NordSourced (11%) state a minimum order on their own website, with a link to the page. A missing figure does not mean a manufacturer takes only large orders. It means its website does not say, so the minimum has to be asked.

What counts as a small first order on this page?

A minimum of 500 or fewer finished units, packs, bottles, pieces or sets, published on the manufacturer's own website with a link. 500 is the figure 6 manufacturers in the directory call small, low or "just" 500 themselves. Minimums in capsules, kilograms, litres or euro are not counted as small or large, because they are not finished packs.

Is a minimum given in capsules a large order?

It cannot be read as large or small next to a figure in bottles. 4 manufacturers on NordSourced publish their minimum in capsules or tablets. That counts loose capsules before filling. Ask how many bottles of your dose it fills and whether filling, labelling and packing are part of the offer.

Does a lower minimum mean a lower price per unit?

No. A minimum says how few you may order, not what each unit costs. Two comparable minimums do not tell you which first order costs less in total. Ask each manufacturer for the price per unit at its minimum and at a larger quantity, for the same product and pack.

Do samples count as my first order?

Not unless the manufacturer says so, so ask about the two separately. A sample or a trial run tells you whether the product is right; the minimum order is the first commercial batch. Ask for both, with what each costs and how long each takes. The samples guide covers what to ask before you order.

Is the minimum per product or for the whole order?

It depends on the manufacturer, and the figure alone does not say. 12 of the 27 small minimums on this page are stated per product, style, model, colour or SKU. Others are per order, per batch or give no basis. With three products at a per-product minimum, the first order is three times the figure.

Can I start with a ready-made product and develop my own formula later?

Often with the same manufacturer. 40 of the 71 manufacturers on NordSourced that name white label also name contract manufacturing or product development. Ask before the first order which packaging, specifications and documents carry over, and what the minimum of your own formula will be.

What if the manufacturer I want does not publish a minimum order?

Ask it for the commercial minimum of your exact product, form and pack, and for what the figure covers. If you prefer not to write to several manufacturers yourself, NordSourced's free request form sends your brief to the manufacturers you approve, without your name, and asks them the same questions.
